Creep comes from the engagement* you have between the hammer hooks and sear face.. It originates from how much travel the sear goes through before slipping free from the hooks.. Polishing alone will not remove your creep. For that you will need to recut the sear and/or the hammer hooks.

I cleaned up my trigger creep using a true radius jig to cut the primary angle as well as reducing the height of the hammer hooks using a shim and some stones... It's now very, very crisp..

With the right tools and some proper understanding, it's a very repeatable process.. But admittedly, unless you're comfortably proficient with that kind of project, a 1911 gunsmith is the best route to take..

Check YouTube also. Some great DIY videos on doing 1911 trigger jobs the correct way.

My RIA 1911 tac has a amazing trigger out of the box, very little creep and crisp light break. I do not know how they do it for 518 bucks.

It's a Springfield, if your frame holes are out of spec make them replace it. It might be worth it to call them. You'll get a FedEx label and off it goes.

You can pay a smith to work on your gun, but you'll find SA owners that squawk enough to SA cs will get extras done gratis.

You can pay them to remove the ILS, do a custom shop trigger job, whatever your wallet will handle.

I'd go with complaining to them first.

The bow of your trigger is getting chewed up by the disconnector the . STOP shooting it until you take it apart and polish both pieces.
You will thank me for this when you see it yourself.

Strip the gun down to a bare frame and clean everything. Gunk can build up behind the trigger.

OP, call SA and send your gun back.
It's way better than fishing thru opinions on a forum if you can't DIY troubleshoot.
Why spend a dime on labor or parts when the whole brand advantage of SA is their customer service?

Yes, its a pain, but they turned my buddy's Milspec into a Loaded over the past 5 years he has owned it.

Go complain and gain, its the Springfield way.

When it comes back, you will be just as ignorant of your machine as you were before you sent it in.

OP, you want to learn 1911 troubleshooting on your TRP Operator, or just get it fixed and pick up a beater to screw around with?

Detail strip it and clean up all the parts. Makes sure it's not just some gunk or a spur that can easily be polished off. Detail stripping will allow you to learn about the simple genius that is the 1911.

Of all the 1911s I own, my TRP has the worst trigger. Not so bad that it bothers me or that I hate it, it just is. My TRP still has the ILS.
I replaced the ILS MSH on my MC Op with a Ed Brown MSH, wanted a magwell The MC Op now has a much better trigger then the TRP. That said I don't know if the Trigger on the TRP is so much worse that I feel like dropping $70-80 on a new MSH and magwell.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.
