Sig Rep just told me changing my slide to no LCI is illegal

A Sig rep just told me that it would be illegal to change out the slide on my new P229 that came with a LCI to a slide that did not have the LCI. He says if LE caught me with it, I would be in trouble, yada, yada, yada. Of course I told him he was mistaken but he was adamant. The funny thing was, he told me all x-change kits do not have the LCI and was still was willing to sell me a x-change kit with a 10-round mag?

If anyone speaks with Sig for any reason, please let tell them to stop spreading bogus information.

People, please confirm I am not losing it. There are no issues with me replacing my LCI slide with one that does not have one correct?

I've had the opposite experience with my Rhino. Extremely reliable, DA trigger started out fair and has smoothed into a good trigger, SA was great to start with and is now downright sublime. I can't speak as to the customer service aspect as nothing has gone wrong with my revolver.

Oneaudiopro, sorry to hear that you didn't like yours but I love mine. If you want to get rid of yours, let me know. I'd gladly own another one.

Yep. It's highly unlikely a cop will call SIG CS to run the S/N. Also, Sig doesn't stamp S/N on the slide and barrel, which makes it pretty much impossible to determine if the slide is original or replaced. Not to mention, it's not illegal at all.

Do slides need to be fitted to the frame for Sigs? Hmm, I was looking for a P220 Carry slide but now I might hold off. Also how did you managed to keep anchor with the new slide?

I installed an x-change kit on my P220R, 200 rounds so far working flawlessly.
