Installing a trigger usually only entails filing on the top and bottom of the trigger shoe to get it to fit smoothly into the frame, adjusting the overtravel stop, and maybe polishing the bow. As long as the bow is to the same spec, it generally should not require additional work to the sear/hammer/safety.Comment

He's likely have to grind down the top and bottom of the shoe, and possibly tune the overtravel. The last 1911 trigger I did took about an hour and a half to do but the overtravel was perfect without any adjustment so I saved a lot of trouble there.Comment

It is drop in........ if you get lucky. As mentioned, you may have to remove a small amount of material, smooth out the trigger bow, and adjust the over travel screw. It's not a difficult job and you would learn a lot about your gun. Then again $25 is a very good price to have it done correctly by a professional."Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here"Comment

Just got back from Gusslers. Man knows how to do work on a 1911. Very happy with the work done. It was $25 well spent.

Awesome. Did you get to hang out and watch while he did it? Great way to learn watching a pro. Congrats.

Just do it ur self bro! That's the fun thing about owning 1911's, changing parts ur self. FYI some triggers comes oversized so u might need to file it a little.Just ordered one of these from ebay. Is this something that is easily installed, or should I let a gunsmith take care of it? I talked to one smith about it. He said he would install it for $25 and it would be done in 20 min if he wasn't busy with other things. Thinking of paying the $25 and letting the gunsmith handle it. What do you guys say?

Didn't really get a chance to observe him. While working on the trigger he was moving around his shop doing other things. He did a great job though. I think he was working on the frame at one point. Very thorough job, well worth the $25 spent.

Removing and installing a 1911 trigger is simple; however, no offense, if you're buying a trigger off eBay you're best off going to a Pistolsmith.Comment
