    3 hole trigger for 1911

Just ordered one of these from ebay. Is this something that is easily installed, or should I let a gunsmith take care of it? I talked to one smith about it. He said he would install it for $25 and it would be done in 20 min if he wasn't busy with other things. Thinking of paying the $25 and letting the gunsmith handle it. What do you guys say?

For $25, I will let the gunsmith handle it. That's me, as I am not handy and would not want to take a chance for $25. I think other parts have to be disassembled and re-assembled in the process.

I'm pretty much the same way. Not too handy when it comes to the guns. I did manage to install a new flat mainspring housing, successfully . This trigger thing sounds more involved though.

It all depend on what kinds of a person you are. Have you completely stripped your 1911 before, and comfortable doing it again? If yes, than you can install it yourself.
I have done it a few times, and have no problem doing it again. If the trigger has pre travel adj tabs cut out, let the smith do it.

im new to 1911's and watched a couple trigger install vids on youtube university, and they seem to be a lot more involved than a simply drop in part. if you have the time and tools, i would say tackle it yourself and get to know your pistol.

Yeah i'm going with the gunsmith. For only $25 i'll let him handle it.

Thats a box of ammo!...kinda. I enjoy working/building on my guns. I vote do it your self and take some pride...its priceless. Lol but $25 aint bad either.

For something as crucial as wanting the trigger to work properly $25 is a cheap peace of mind to have a pro do it in my opinion.

For $25, sure. But in all honesty it's not an overly complicated affair on a 1911. If you do decide to do it yourself, be sure to have some flitz on hand and polish up the bow.

I've installed two 1911 triggers myself, but for $25 I wouldn't deal with it myself.

It's not hard to do at all but if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself then by all means let the smith do it.

I would offer him $35 and ask if you can sit quietly and watch. You get a professionally installed trigger, and learn how to detail strip your 1911 frame all at the same time. $25 is a great deal btw IMO.

the trigger is a drop in part, nothing needs to be fitted, so for $25 I would not take it to a gunsmith. Now a hammer/sear, safety, etc that needs to be fitted then yes if your not handy please take it to the smith.

i woudl do it myself but i don't know your level of competence but i cant belive there are many gunowners more incompetent than me

but i just read that some idaho person mailed a loaded and cocked revolver so i guess there are no depths deep enough

This is the part that confuses me. Is he just going to drop in the trigger and give it back to me? Or is he also going to be working with the sear hammer and safety? Honestly I was expecting a trigger install to cost more than $25. Guess i'll find out tomorrow.
