    Which J frame?

Hey guys, I kinda just started thinking about getting a J frame (maybe an airweight) and just wondering what you guys have that you like? My CCW app just got approved yesterday. As far as carry guns I have a Shield, NAA 22 mag, Glock 23 and Sig 2022. Was thinking about replacing the Sig or Glock with a J frame (not replacing the gun, replacing it as one of the 4 I can have on the permit, leaving me one bigger winter or backpack gun and the rest smaller carry guns). Just wondering what you guys have that you like. Reliability and size are my priorities.

Smith & Wesson 637 just a really good basic 5 shot revolver.

^ I agree, you can bob the hammer if you worry about the spur snagging on clothing.

Will they allow the .22 mag? It sure wouldn't be my first choice, for a defensive gun, maybe a BUG, but that's about it.

^^^This! The no-lock versions are out there too if you would rather not have the internal lock.

              642/442 of better yet an M&P 340.

I owned a few 642's over the years but since finding 340 it's definitely a step up especially with tritium front sight. I also have the Ruger 3" LCRx which carries nicely.

Dose your budget let you get a Ti AirLite ?, that's what I rock, super easy to carry as it weighs nothing, well almost nothing.

Do you have any experience shooting a snubby? Before you do anything, maybe you should actually shoot a J-frame.

It varies a lot between IAs. There's at least one that has a 5 round minimum and .32 cal minimum. Give em a call.

442 for sure. I wouldn't want to shoot a single round of .357 out of a 662. The .38 is plenty of recoil in that little frame. You seriously don't want to shoot .357 in that mouse gun. It's a jem to pocket carry. I don't even notice it's there.

Try shooting that little guy before you buy. I was shocked how much practice it took to be proficient with the heavy recoil and 12lb trigger pull. But after a few boxes of ammo it's like a chunky little glock. It just goes bang and is actually pretty accurate. I'll never sell mine.
