CZ slide racker

Well this method does not work well with pistols such as the CZ and Tanfoglios that have the rails on the inside of the frame. The second tip is to grasp your support hand along the top of the slide but to make sure you have a good purchase with your support hand. It's sort of like this picture (http://thewellarmedwoman.com/image/d...ide%201web.jpg) , except have your support hand closer to the center of the slide, and possibly with your support thumb grasping the rear serrations. The picture shows a grasp that doesn't fully have a good purchase.
With your strong hand, wrap your hand around the pistol grip (index finger out of the trigger please =) ), and use your strong hand to "push" the frame forward, and just have your support hand holding the slide firm.
If you use the distal joint from your support hand index finger knuckle and your thumb to grasp the slide and pull rearward while pushing the grips forward with your strong hand, you will notice that it is much faster and easier than the usual overhand grab.
Sometimes I rack the slide with the web of my support hand over the top of the slide as well.

Sweaty palms? Are you joking? The serrations on the 75b slide are pretty good. I'd bet I could rack it covered in butter. Girlie-handitis? If he's ever in a self defense situation maybe he could just throw the gun at his attacker.Originally posted by sfarchitectThe days of scared old white people, terrified that life and the world has passed them by running America is coming to a close.Comment

The serrations on the 75 have a surprising number of complaints if you look into it. One of the only complaints people seem to have on the CZ series is NOT ENOUGH grip area for racking the slide.
I've never had an issue, but it sure seems like spending the $100 or so on a custom slide milling would be way more beneficial than some chunk of metal handing off in space waiting to cause the user to get slapped in the meat (of whatever area that may be) or bone just by using it to defend yourself.
FWIW, I have tried racking my slide with a figurative start ton of lube on it (which trumps sweaty palms) and never, ever had an issue. So.....sounds like a technique issue.Comment

^^ Once he gets used to them there will be no second thoughts on how he racks them, it will get easier as He gets more and more Pistols, Looks like another gun addict in the horizon lol.Comment

tbc: he did.. 1911 and HK is out of his reach, he didn't like the glock, like the sig.. but somehow he prefers CZ... lolComment

Odd. We teach about racking the slide even in the NRA First Steps course. We definitely teach it in the Basic Pistol course. Aside from that... even with sweaty palms, he should be able to rack if he's grabbing by the serrations. That's why they're there.i agree. my coworker took the beginner pistol class from reeds.. he opted for the all 3 day training which is very good for him.
but i was surprise when he didn't know what racking the slide meant, until he told me the slide was locked back at all times during the class. so all the student needed to do was pop in the mag and drop the slide stop and start to shoot.
i would think the instructors would've taught them how to rack the slide...

That's because they're awesome.
That being said, sounds like muscle issues. After he has loaded the mag a few hundred times he should be able to rack the slide with no problems.Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.Comment

i agree.. i would think after paying $160 bucks, he would be taught a least how to rack the slide.. but guess not.
yup i think so too. i told him don't worry about it.. just buy it, take it home and practice racking it while watching TV..
