To a point... JMB died before he finished the design of this pistol. Although the majority of the pistol is his... not all of it is. I would say because of that, I would not 100% be able to claim your statement 100% truth.

What if what he did contribute were all the things he wished he had added or taken away from the 1911? Then the statement stands true.

Well..... Then the only logical answer is to own, shoot, and enjoy both!

That should be framed and hanging over your mantle with you in a suave smoking jacket smoking a pipe next to it.

The only thing I wish the Hi Power had is a longer tang to prevent hammer bite. Even with a rounded hammer, mine may leave an abrasion after extended shooting. As others have mentioned, removing the mag safety makes a dramatic improvement in the trigger.

I picked up the bhp, at the turners too. For some reason I didn't like the one they had.
                The paint finish?
                The grip?
I think if you changed out the grip with something different, I think you would like it "better?".
                I have 2
                1, mk3, and 1 T series

I have a BHP from back in the 80’s. Changing out the grip made a huge difference IMO.

I’m not a really big fan of the BHP. I don’t know what the deal is, it’s just a gun I don’t shoot well. Gun is fine, my buddies shoot it well. It just doesn’t really work for me. It’s a nice gun, nice finish, nice to use standard cap mags, etc but the gun just doesn’t fit me well. I can’t explain it.
