M@P Shield 9mm mods???

I'll have to find a criminal willing to stand in front of me to make it "real" world where a guy is going to let me drill on him to practice,lol. Fact is, I carry what i carry because i wouldn't carry if i didn't, which is a worse situation, being unarmed. You forget that 99% of life threatening situations are diffused with the mere presentation of a firearm. You can be prepared but even with the best fire power you can still lose your life. I practice very often with my NAA and am confident i cant hit anything within 7 yards, at least the pepsi cans are believers of my marksmanship,lol

Honestly, just go shoot it. Get familiar and comfortable with it before you mess with it. Well, maybe sights and grip tape of some kind.

You should check with your issuing agency if you plan to CC it. Some have restrictions on mods you can make.

Go shoot 5-600 rnds then decide IF there's something you feel needs changing.

I absolutely hated mine when it was new, trigger was terrible! After about 600 rounds, and watching tv dry firing it at all the bad guys on tv, it's like a different gun. I like it now. Just shoot it and see how you like it before messing with it

And this, kinda, I didn't hate mine when it was new... I shot it ALMOST as well as my G26.

Start with shooting it
Then TalonGrips and shoot it more
Then determine what it needs

Talon grip tape is nice.
They have two kinds, one is like deck tape and not that good for CCW.
The other is rubberized and is REALLY nice.

Out of the box, I found the Shield to be a bit narrow and slippery to my liking. The G26 is a great fit.
The Talon rubberized grip tape made a big difference and I'd recommend it for any Shield owner.

I plan on a lot of things, but reality is it will probably sit in my safe, lol
I have purchased many ccw guns and ALWAYS go back to the one i know i will carry and it wont be a problem hiding it and i will never know its there until i need it. So it will probably be another range gun, mag disconnect mod shouldn't effect anything. 22mag self defense ammo is getting 13" of penetration these days, i know the bullet is small but its what i WILL carry.

Go through about 400 rounds to break in the trigger before you mod anything. The shield doesn't need much. keep the gun clean. I have a shield in my life that doesnt like to play dirty.

Maybe sights or grip tape for your palm if needed.

My sheild likes 9mm cartridges 124g and heavier.

it is pretty loud, but doesn't bother me that much.Pretty easy to manage as well with the grip extended.

If I had a CA model, I would do the following in addition to the above mods:

- remove mag disconnect
- buy APEX LCI and install that
