If I remember correctly the flats are about a 1200 polish and the rest is a light bead blast matte finish before HC. Here it is "in the white" before it was sent out:

I honestly don't remember the cost of the hardchrome. I remember It was cheaper than Ionbond DLC which I was also looking into at that time.

I voted against Obama before it was cool.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

Thank you! It's one of my two favorite 1911s to shoot as it just feels good in your hand.

It seems like the standard proceedure is brushed flats and bead blasted rounds. I like the brushed look but at the same time I want to minimize the reflectiveness as much as possible. Would going all bead blast be the way to go? Does anyone have pics of an all bead blasted hard chrome 1911? I think that Jardine Custom above was one...
