CZ: switching sights

while working on my SP01 the other night, i was wondering if i could move my Truglo sights (front and rear) from the SP01 to my P01 instead?

then for the SP01, i'll get some sights from CGW or CZC.

would that be a drop in without doing any mods?

they have the same cuts on both uppers. I'm going to use the SP01 truglo rear and CGW FO front on the P01, My Sp01 already has CGW comp sites.

jsigone, how do i remove them? just using a regular punch? anyway to remove it without scratching it?

cool.. good to know they will fit. P01 will be HD now.. so truglo will help a bit including the viridian light i have on there now.

I used a 50/50 rubber hammer from Home Depot and the alum punch set that came with cgw sights. I did wrap the tip with masking tape and part of the slide.

Secure the slide and remove the set screw. Some good whacks will start the sight to move. Bring the punches to the range to set the drift. Drop of lock tight in the set screw hole followed by the screw.

You want to make sure you don't scratch your gun can get a large wood dowel from the hardware store. I have used a plastic push stick normally for pushing pieces of mdf wood through my table saw as a large punch. For a hammer I use a yellow plastic mallet for hammering tent stakes from Walmart.

I remove the slide and put it between 2x2 wood in the vice. I use tape on the side of the slide I'm pounding on I use delron punch if they will budge, if not, I tape end of a regular punch and remove from right to left. Don't have the slde on the frame when removing sights may damage gun.

Cajun Gun Works sells the Meprolight sights for $80 in case you want to have night sights on both the SP01 and the P01.

As for changing them, I cheated and bought a sight pusher.

I use this POS one right here. I use a lot of blue tape to prevent sratching of the slide. It doesn't work too well on Sig Slides.

It works well on any slide that doesn't have a lot of curves on it, like Sig slides. Its not that great honestly but I have used it on many different platforms. It appears that it has been discontinued though.

I suggest getting a 6.5mm tall CZ front FO CZC sight or the Dawson Precision equivalent (.100" wide) and the regular CZ75 HTAC rear sight.
