    Single stack .40 options

Looking to get a thinner .40 to replace a glock 27 on my ccw. Really wanting a kahr cw40 but can't find a used one. Other options? Recommendations both as desirable and what to stay away from are appreciated. Thanks guys!

M&P 40 Shield is an option that you can go with.

Datebayo is right, I've been carrying a shield lately and it's hard going back to my subcompact xd40. I've heard many times carhs have a break in issue where they do jam and have issues.

Sig P239 also worth a look. Star Firestar 40 if you like a compact 1911 style retro SAO, but all steel = heavy.

Not a fan of the 1911 style platform, or all metal guns. Want something light enough to carry. Shields are nice shooters but aren't the most comfortable in my hand. The held a Kahr cw9 the other day and it just felt so much better. The the shields availability is definitely a plus ove the cw... Just seeing what other options are out there that aren't normally on my radar. Thanks for the replies!

            I'd take a Shield over a Kahr.

I'd go Sig before Shield, and Shield before Kahr.

Taurus has the 740, and Walther has the PPS - both probably fairly hard to find PPT here in CA.

The P239 is all metal, but the frame is alloy so not as bad as you'd think. And it is incredibly accurate - I have the 9mm version with slicked up action by Sig. But on paper, the P239 is thicker and heavier than a Glock 23. In reality it feels a little slimmer.

If weight was a concern I'd be looking at Shield or the Walther PPS.

Reasoning? I agree with you but would like to hear it from someone else

Shield over kahr any day. You should be able to find what you need ppt regardless the list. If you were smart enough to get ccw in CA then it should be a piece of cake. Look at latest YouTube videos.

For me it makes a lot a sense to standardize on one trigger type across all your pistols. Do you have a favorite full size pistol? I'd look for a compact single stack in that same family.

I like the Sig P239, but my full size pistol is a Sig P226.

Out of all listed, in my experience, if you plan on extended range outings with the pistol, the P239 will be the most comfortable. Shield would be second. You just have to figure out if you want a striker or hammer fired gun. For carry the Shield wins in the weight department. It's all give and take.

Not much out there for single stack 40cal i think..
                            shield comes to my mind...

I'm definitely best with my glocks but they don't make what I'm looking for. Also shoot lc9, s&w 642 so im comfortable with DAO trigger that would be on kahr.
