Anyone shoot 357 Sig?

Love 357Sig. Ammo is just as cheap a 40 s&w if you know were to look. A bit more kick but nothing to bad.

Love .357-Sig, it's fun to shoot. I can't speak to reloading, but I don't shoot it that often and stockpile boxes when I find a good deal, so the (small) extra cost over say .40 isn't a big deal to me.

In USPSA divisions other than Production, a typical .40 load will be worth one point more in all scoring zones other than the A zone.

It also makes a slightly bigger hole. Which can make a difference when it comes to scoring. Realize, at that level of competition, a fraction of an inch can mean the difference between a win or a loss.

Pity points for using the short and weak? Maybe I'm misunderstanding (don't shoot USPSA), but giving extra points for a specific round feels like a participation trophy in little league.

I practice a lot of .40 but my home defense round is .357sig and was my carry caliber of choice when I lived in TX.

.357sig is a fantastic caliber with incredibly high hit to drop ratio. Golden Saber .357sig is amazing choice of defense round from the tests ive done.

For personal defense you can't beat the .357 sig caliber. The stopping power, accuracy and ballistics are very impressive. I have .357 sig barrels for my 229, 239 and 226. I recently ordered a .357 barrel from barsto for my 226 x-5 .40.

I say 357 Sig is a "NO GO."
I've shot it before and it is a VERY snappy round. Very high velocity, more wear and tear on your gun and lets not forget the muzzle blast. Shooting that thing is like a fire breathing dragon. The muzzle flash in normal lighting conditions is way noticeable.
If you ever use it for home defense when the lights are off, you are only going to get one shot because you will be completely blinded after that one shot.
More recoil than a 40 with a smaller hole. WAY more over penetration than a 9mm. They've come a long way in ballistics for the 9mm in the last few years. I don't think you gain much by having the "9mm on steroids."
Oh, and yeah, it was way more expensive to practice with.
But that is just my personal opinion.

Yep, that's do-able.

Follow the link above. FMJ for .32/round (38 new). Speer bonded for .53/round (59 new). As a non-retired person, those prices are worth not having to load a necked round for me.
