    Colt Defender 45ACP

Purchased a Colt Defender 45ACP this month and a few days before my pick up I get a call from Turners Outdoorsman and they said that they had to ship all their Colt Defender back to colt for a trigger fix. They have no clue when they might get it back, but they'll call me and refund me a DROS if it exceeds the 30day or no fee for a reDROS.

Anyone have heard of anything about this trigger "recall"? if its something to be worried about.

    Thanks Guys!

No, but now you got me worried because I just bought one two months back...If it makes you feel better, nothing has gone wrong with mine so far...

If you have the serial number, you can check it out http://www.colt.com/CustomerServices...llRequest.aspx

I have both the defender and the EMP. I would recommend the EMP, without the slightest bit of hesitation over the defender. Firing a .45 out of a 3in barrel is rough =/

The Defender recall dates back to mid-2009. Did you buy a used one or is Turners selling pre-2009 stock?

Isn't it your property once you start the DROS? They at least should have asked you or let you take possession legally before offering to send it in.

Its brand new, but Im not sure if they were pre-2009 stock. I'll keep it in mind when it gets in.

                  Thanks!

Im not sure of the legality and rule, Im sure I don't mind as long as it gets to my hand in the best shape possible and if there was problem that its fixed. but yeah it was fully paid and when they called me its to let me know that they had to ship it? I was not in a rush to pick it up, i dros this with a Riffle and it was more of a hey I always wanted one why not dros it with the Tikka T3 kinda deal hehe

Rifle Gear has some in stock if you are still interested in trying to get one. Just got mine out of jail from them Monday. I can look at the serial number and check it against the website when I get off work in the morning.

LOL! Happy to know I'm n to the only one who's come out of the gunstore with an impulse buy.

Kinda nice that they are fixing problems before you take it home. It's kinda of pain in the gratification dept. But at least you don't have to bother with the shipping etc.

My Defender is from 4/12 but the web site says no recall is in effect or it.
