That looks awesome. Do you have the link for the case?

      Nice job.
A Sawzall case also works great for AK pistols.

Home Depot... The set of 3 cases is on sale this week. The one in my pics and two larger ones. I'm thinking of setting up the wheeled one as a range equipment transportation case. Not sure, but I bought all three.

The 6 orange bins and dividers can come out if you just want to use the full case. Also, the underside of the lid keeps the contents in the orange bins from falling out.

A couple of my shooting buddies did the same thing with those cases. It's funny how great minds seem to think alike.
I voted against Obama before it was cool.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

Where did you buy the foam? How much?

Kaizen foam. Look it up on Amazon.

Depending on thickness, a Max of under $30 for a 2' x 4' sheet. Pretty cheap.

What thickness did you use in this case?

Something I'm still not clear on after having lived here 5+ years- can the gun and ammo be in the same case if locked? I was under the impression you have to have both separate.

They can be in the same container. Gun must be unloaded.
