    Thinking about getting Sig 1911

Anyone have any experience with them?

Yes I have the SS railed 1911. It has an external extractor which is fine. Runs great no malfunctions what so ever.

Very nice man! Exactly what I am looking at, or a target model. Still trying to decide between the two.

What is the deal with the external extractor?

Well 1911 enthusiasts will want the original internal extractor.

I use my Sig 1911 as nightstand handgun. I like the external also because I could load a round in the chamber, drop the slide slowly, pinch the external extractor and now it is loaded. Won't experience bullet set back from loading and unloading a round.

I have a stainless traditional match elite model in 9mm. Only about 1000 rounds but no issues. Like shooting as much as my LB TRS but maybe just because the ammo is cheaper...

I have the Sig Nitron Rail...black finish. Have fired almost 600 rds thru it...love it! Trigger has smoothed out so nice people think it has had a trigger job. Very accurate, do not recall any issues....external extractor not an issue for me, it has never failed to extract. Prefer this over standard 1911, because I like the way Sig shaped the slide.

I like what I am reading. Yea, I do like the Sig influence on the slide. Also, I imagine the external extractor must be an improvement or Sig wouldn't have bothered with it. For about the same money, probably a better choice than a Kimber.

Had one - railed stainless. Good 1911. Since you like the slide profile, you will probably like the gun. Good price, too.

Great looking gun. I too debate between a couple different 1911's I ended up with the sig scorpion I like the look of the sig slide and for the price you get night sights front checkered strap can't beat that.as far as the external extractor it doesn't bother me. Don't quote me on it but I've read that browning original design had an external extractor there's even a video on YouTube about the history of the browning 1911 showing something that resembles an external extractor on his original design.

As much as I love my DW's, I wouldn't mind having a Sig SS railed 1911 as nightstand handgun.

You'd be hard pressed to find a 1911 with the same features as the Sig for the same price.

The external extractor and the slide profile don't bother me at all...

If I were to get 1911, it will be from Sig as well.

I've got 7 of them and they all work great for me. I would choose Sig over many other brands.
