Love mine. 1 gen 40 cal. The trigger is a bit weighted for a first pull and the subsequent pulls are quite lite. First time I fired it, I thought there two back to back shots on a single pull.

It's a great pistol and you got a great deal.

You'll love it, trust me . Replace the spring on the striker with one from a glock and the trigger improves greatly, check the walther forums for a how-to. But congrats on the pickup, $475 otd is a steal, especially since they're off roster now

Have had one since late nineties in .40 and it's just crazy stupid accurate. Added a 9mm a little while ago and guess what? Same thing.

One of the most underrated guns out there. They were slightly more than Glocks so I think the just were always overshadowed.

Dang nice collection. Glockstore is 5 mins away from my house. Ill toss in the 5# or 5.5# spring... the forums you recommended say that its a huge improvement. Thanks for the advice.

I actually like it a bit better than the PPQ for a number of reasons - most importantly the de-cocker button.

Decocker works differently (and stupidly) on the QA... disengages the striker and renders the gun inoperable until you cycle the slide. AS version is the better trigger, and the decocker just changes the trigger from SA to DA.

I like my P99... one of my favorite guns in fact. But I love the PPQ I picked up earlier this year more.

Just be aware that the decocker on the QA model that you have serves a different purpose than it does on the AS model. On yours, the decocker is intentionally smaller and more difficult to actuate, and it's only purpose is to facilitate field stripping without having to pull the trigger like on a Glock. IMO Walther should have eliminated it since it renders the firearm "dead" if it is unintentionally actuated. To make it "live" again, you pull the slide back a few centimeters to recock the striker, or just do a full slide rack if that's faster for you. Just something to be aware of. On the AS model, the decocker puts the gun into a heavier, longer, double action type first trigger pull.
