We been shooting on weekends w/ a group of guys. When were all there, there are 3 glock 22s there. Two of the guns shoot well. We all have problems w/ a particular glock 22. Its a gen 3, less than 300 rounds have been through it. The rear sight had to be moved over to the far right ( the bottom of the plastic site almost portrudes out from dovetail. In other words, you cant quite feel or catch it w/ your finger nail). Anyway, i dont think its the ammo or us, because we shoot the two other model 22 well. What can be going on w/ this. Its open pattern goes same amount high or low as side to side. In other words, it's not just shooting wildly to one side, or just a height problem. Its inaccuracy is both high, low, and both sides innacurate. Any ideas what to look for w/ this problem. we been using winchesters and federal .40, and both other guns have no issues w/ this ammo.

Glock 22 accuracy problem

Since you have two other 22s, do a process of elimination. All the parts are interchangeable(as long as they are all gen 3's)use a known accurate barrel in the inaccurate slide and so on, until you find the problem.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you. -

yes, all gen threes. we were thinking of that, nobody wanted to volunteer there barrel last time. But, yes, that sounds pretty logical. I think when you pull the slide half way back, and grab the end of the barrel, you can feel a lil wobble or play (on all three of them), and it looks like the barrel slightly elevates at the end. I'm kinda new to these, but I just sort of have this hunch that the barrel might be moving around in there when all the action is going on. I posted this, thinking by chance someone else has heard of anything like this, thank for the replyComment

That sounds weird, yeah if your in the bay area i have a couple 22s we can swap parts and test.
Have you thought about replacing the sights with after market parts?
I usuasually shoot my 22 like ****e at out door ranges because the targets are low, so I shoot indoor if I am looking for groupings, ammo Acura testing etc.
How far have you been shooting? Target position? Elevation? Etc a lot of variable but not impossible to determine.Last edited by PachecoFTW; 06-14-2015, 1:36 AM.Comment

Let's face it Glocks aren't perfect. There's a lemon made every time perfection is pronounced 300 times.Originally posted by HopetonBrownI don't think there's anything wrong with the gun. If you're in the Bay Area I'd be happy to shoot it.
It's just so rare that a quality duty firearm like a Glock is gonna have some sort of inherent defect that keeps it from being relatively accurate.
OK back to the thread.
More than likely the inaccuracy is with the barrel. Could be out of spec with the bore size or someone may have screwed up the crown of the barrel. The wise man said just find your place

Betting it's the barrel as well, have a g21 that could barely make a 12-14" group even using a rest... Lone wolf barrel fixed it, tack driver now
Btw I have a low round count factory g21 barrel for sale!

load a couple of snap caps in the mags and watch the tip of the barrel closely to see if the shooter is jerking the trigger. Ive seen plenty of people shoot one gun and swear it had a problem, then give it to a single person who has good trigger control, sight picture, hold, stance, and the problem is non existent. Can DI AR's run dirty?

thank you for all the good answers. It's not actually my gun. Its been over a year, not sure if its an option to send it back anymore. It turned out to be pretty windy today, so I'm not sure were going shooting. Thanks Pacheco for the offer. Sounds like swapping the barrel is what needs top be tried, and we'll really pay attention to the trigger pull. I will measure how far and size of groups and compare it w/ the other g22s, and post it here after we go shooting. thanks again.Comment

Have multiple shooters tried this gun? I've had lots of people tell me that something was wrong with a particular gun, but the failure/accuracy issues only existed when they shot it. The problem with a pistol 90% of the time is shooter induced.
That doesn't mean that Glock, Wilson Combat, or any other company can't crank out a bad gun. Here is how I would check it:
1) Have someone you know shoots a G22 well in your group shoot it. Preferably everybody. If problem exists, go to #2.
2) Try ammo you know works well in other G22s
3) Swap a barrel from a "good" G22 into the bad one. See what happens. Try the barrel in both the good and bad and see if the problem travels with the barrel.
4) Swap a complete barrel/slide assembly from bad G22 onto a good one.
If you can't find the problem by #4, send it to Glock to fix.For Sale: Off Roster Handgun Moving Sale

I am at least the third owner, no doubt due to it's performance, so figured it was easier to replace the barrel. And this way I can shoot my own cast lead reloadsOriginally posted by HopetonBrownIf I had a Glock that shot a 14" group from a rest I'd send it back to Glock under warranty.sigpic"That's more suspicious than a nun doing squats in a cucumber field!"Comment
