Thanks to everyone for the replies. I think I'm going to go with the 17. I feel like I have way too many uses for this gun and not enough money to buy everything I want. With that being said the 17 IMO will do them all fairly well while saving me a little bit of money.

I would pass on any gun that starts with "G". Move up to "P", you'll like it.

You could always buy one and a complete slide of the other one

P? Phoenix Arms? I don't think Patriot Ordinance makes pistols, I could be wrong though.

Phoenix Arms pistols begin with the letter "H", and i don't think Patriot Ordinance has pistols that begin with the letter "P" either.

In that case, he's not looking for any pistol that begins with the letter "G". By your logic a Glock 17 "starts" with a "1" and Glock 34 "starts" with a "3".

Nice try on being clever though.

Why the conflict? It's like we're talking a marriage proposal here. It's more like a night in Bangkok......you can have them BOTH...with no regrets...and much lighter wallet!

Ummm, isnt a glock 17 referred to as a G17, and so on? A Phoenix Arms an HP22A, HP25A, and so on? A Sig Sauer referred to as a P928, P226. I didn't think it had anything to do with the first letter of the manufacturer, just the way they numbered their products.

from glocks website...note the end "g17"

Designed for professionals, the GLOCK 17 is trusted by law enforcement officers and military personnel around the globe because of its unsurpassed reliability, optimal magazine capacity of 17 rounds in the standard magazine and its low weight.

The "G" in G17 stands for "Glock", so unless they're Glock G17's, Glock G19's, etc, I don't see your point.

so what does the "H" stand for on the Phoenix Arms pistol line?

Do you plan to get a CCW permit?

No idea but you're more than welcome to call them and find out.

But I'm done cluttering up the OP's thread. We'll just have to agree to disagree. You think th Sig p-series pistols are great but dislike the Glock "g-series". That's fine with me.

I called Phoenix Arms to ask them. They told me you are a moron. I am done cluttering as well.

Don't forget all the "goodies"! You'll need ammo, range bag, hearing and eye protection, cleaning kit,... OMG the list is endless... I just bought a 19, and honestly, I've spent more on "goodies" than I have on the gun.
The 17 is a good choice, and will get you out shooting quicker. Once you're comfortable with the 17, and have bought all the "goodies" you're good to go with anything else, as long as you don't change caliber.
My next expense will be some 1 on 1 lessons.
Good luck with whatever you choose, and welcome to your new addiction.
