Glock Pricing?

I'm looking for a used glock 17 and prices seem to be a little steep. I did eventually find a gen 3 17 for 100 rounds through it for 500 though. What do you guys think a used, low round count standard glock 17 should go for?

Here in San Diego, shops routinely sell *new* gen 3 17s for $499 ish

For $500 you will save money on tax. But ya still pay $35 dros just as if u bought a new one. I think its worth to buy used

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I actually found a new 17 for a little more but + tax. I figured 100 rounds is basically nothing so the 500 bucks may not be too bad of a price. I just wanted to get some confirmation. A buddy of mine says I could probably find a 17 for 400.

Used for $500 + $35 PPT/DROS = $535

Mehh, I would go new, but that is just me. Not worth the effort to coordinate a meet time, bla, bla.

Sorry for the tangent; but, I'll never understand someone selling a gun that they only shot 100 rounds through. Seriously? It's a G17 for cryin' out loud, not some $2,500 1911 that's kept in a velvet-lined case. Do people not shoot their guns anymore? I guess I just don't believe anyone who says that he "only" shot 50-100-200 rounds in his gun. I would assume that he's shot 1,000 rounds through it and just buy the G17 new. With all of the hassle of trying for weeks to search out the best deal on a used Glock with an unknown history, you could have had a new one in 10 days. I'm with 5ZS on this one.

Join the GSSF for two years, thats $60 i think. They will send you two coupons to buy new glocks at cop prices, which is $425 for a Glock 17. And youll still have the second discount card and have gssf membership.

A new one is $499 at Riflegear in Fountain Valley. I would only buy a used one if it had some small extras, looked new because it was taken care of, and some ammo was thrown in.

I would consider about $450 for a used one for it to be a decent deal, not a great deal. Keep in mind this handgun is easy to get. There is nothing high end or collectable about it.

Just purchased a 23 from another memeber here Saturday. $500 + a couple mags and extras.

I currently own 30 Glocks, but I've only bought 5 of them new. Everything else was via PPT because I am not going to use one of my precious 1 in 30 on an easy-to-find Glock. If I didn't have that kind of buying restriction, then I would only ever buy new. There's really no other reason not to. The $30-50 you save in taxes is not worth the extra hassle or the chance that you are buying someone else's problem.

EXACTLY!!!!!! I do not understand why people pay retail price for a used gun. For the extra $30 wouldn't you want to have the manufacturer warranty and backing for two years?

Also, if you're paying $500 for a used Glock, you are paying way too much in my opinion. If you're PATIENT you can wait for the online retailers and get a used Glock for about $400 flat. And yes, with transfer fee, it's still cheaper than paying $500.

Good job to the seller if you recuperated most of the new price for your handgun. People on Calguns definitely enjoy overpaying for their guns...

Used glock 17 gen 3 are going for $399.99. All day. Just had my friend pick one up for his first gun. Used LEO 17 are $299.99 to $325.00

Tracy Rifle and Pistol had a Glock day a few months ago and they were going for $499 with a range bag and box of ammo and free DROS. Their current promo is $550 plus $50 credit for ammo. I check their twitter account on Fridays for deals. I live an hour away but they are my preferred store.
