I've only had one Kahr in my lifetime, but that one sure gave me a lot of issues. It took two trips to Kahr (after the second one they replaced the entire slide assembly) and my own tinkering to resolve these problems. It works now, but I'm still far from trusting it. Kahr mags don't seem reliable either.

With that said, judging from what others have said over the years, I wouldn't call all Kahrs crap. It's more of a hit or miss thing, and mine was a major miss. If you're lucky, yours will be great. However, there are many other guns where you don't have to rely on luck

I've only shot my friends Kahr in 9. Way too many issues for only putting 100 rounds through it that day. All other pistols present that day didn't have any issues. That left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never trust my life with one of those. To each their own.

You can make an extra $5-$10 on a bore snake sale
Or $30-$50 in Ruger bucks or smith and Wesson points

With that said, I tried a KAHR. It did not fit my hands. The trigger pull required a lot of my finger to ensure a reliable pull. The tip of my finger would hit the frame and not allow the trigger to break as my finger tip hit the frame.

The 2 kahrs I have seen first hand have had issues. A Leo friend had a compact 40 and it would lock the slide at odd times and odd positions. He sent it in,got fixed, then sold and bought a glock. Another friend bought a 380 compact and the thing wouldn't run a full mag without some sort of malfunction. That got sent in and they replaced almost everything but the frame, barrel and slide (IIRC).

CW380 owner here. No problems at all. About 500-600 rounds thru it so far.

Far from garbage, but they are a little odd. I have only owned one, a PM9 I bought new in 2008. It is my #1 BUG, pocket gun. I have nearly 2000 rounds fired with it and the accuracy of that little gun is outstanding, it has functioned near flawlessly since day one. Although a very long trigger pull it is very smoth and lite. The two things that I dislike about Kahrs, the long reset(but that is the function of the trigger)and the fact you must use the slide lock lever to release the slide otherwise it will jam. Again the design of the gun, not a malfunction.
The Kahr P series is a well made gun with fantastic machining of the slide and barrel. If you know how the gun is designed and follow the manufactuers instructions on use, it is a very good gun. Like I said a little odd but good.

My PM9 has had no problems. However, my wife's P380 and a friend's CW380 have had lots of problems. 1 out of 3 isn't a great record.

A K40 elite and P380 both of which shoot well.

Of course if you limp wrist or use odd ammo you will get failures.

One of the reasons many people CCW with revolvers.

                    ????WHY???? resale value?
Why even mention a 239? It isn't even in the same category, nor are CZs.

The Glock is only available if you can find one PPT or you are exempt.

The XD and M&P are both an inch longer and a half inch taller, which can be all the difference for pocket carry for some people.

Darn. Wish I would have read this post earlier.
The wife & I just got back from the range, 500 rds through two CW9 without a single glitch.

I own a P380 and the only problem I had was with the Ex Mag on the last shot. But never with the Reg and it eats everything. Kahr aren't cheap. If the LCP was still on the list I would got that. Kahr are good guns but for the money you pay for one you can get another gun and ammo for less then a Kahr. Salesman at turners are dumb. I know alot of people who have Kahr and love them. Kahr seem to be very be in states were if you have more then 7rds in your mag you with go to jail.

It's absolutely true. It makes perfect sense for a retailer to stock inventory of a product they KNOW is highly flawed and will give the purchaser nothing but problems.

I've had a cw9 for a long time, 3-4k rounds through it. I've never had one issue with it at all. I carry it in my back pocket all the time with full confidence.

I almost bought a Kahr MK9 until I did a little research and found that the slides crack in between the guide rod and barrel. It is not uncommon. There are other better options when you are spending $800+ on a gun.
