PPQ M1 OR M2

Hey guys. I like the idea of the ambidextrous mag release on the PPQ M1. That being said, I have never really used that style of magazine release on the trigger guard. My question is, are there any other differences between the two models other than the safety? The M1 I was looking at is about $20-30 more than the M2 as well.

It's very intuitive after you get used to it. NO changing grip to drop mag, very fast in my opinion.

The magazine release on M1 is "HK-style," but the lever is longer and narrower. Too narrow for my taste, but not problematic or hard to use, just not what I'm used to with HK-s.

It's a magazine release. They take different magazines as a result, but also with the M2, there is some plastic added to the grip just below the mag release button which some people hate because it's on both sides and the strong hand side (whichever that may be) will contact your middle finger. It doesn't bug me at all. In fact I think the M1 would have been neat, but everything else I have uses the button, so I don't want to adapt for just one gun.

My preference is the M1. I'd love to pick up a 5" M1, if it was made...and available here...or at least another 4" M1

Canik 55 TP9 mags work...but they are only 18 rounds.

I wanted the M1 for the paddles but got the M2 as it was easier to find. The mag release on the M2 is well designed, so aside from a slight shift with your thumb to hit the release there is no change in grip. It's a great pistol. After almost two years and thousands of rounds I'm still perfectly happy with it.

I started out as a Sig guy and had a PPQ M1. I wanted to go easy on my cognitive and physical load while shooting and not having to think where to press to drop a magazine so I got rid of the M1.

i like the m1. hk usp has a very similar release. might be worth a shot to fool around with any of those and see if it suits you.
