M&P Shield +1 MagGuts spring kits

I posted up last year the MagGuts spring kits I got for my G42 here and here. I've also used them in a LCP and after about a 1000 rounds of each, I deemed them trustworthy to use in my self defense & carry guns.

I recently picked up a set for my M&P Shield, adding +1 to each mag. Now my Shield can hold 8+1 or 9+1 rounds with either setup. I put 400 rounds through the mags this weekend and it ran 100%. Once I put another 500 or so rounds through them, I'll trust them with my life and will use them in my self defense / carry Shield. There's still room to press the last round down into the mag, so loading a full mag into the gun with the slide closed is still easy to do.

Yes, this 1up's the Glock 43 (by more than 1), but MagGuts will be coming out with a 7rd spring kits for the G43 soon. Pair that with the +1 or +2 TTI base pads and it'll make for a decent carry pistol. But this thread is about the Shield, so here are a couple of pics

Hmm.. interesting.. would be nice to get one more round into my LCP and Shield.. but need to ensure that they are problem free. One more round doesn't help is the gun won't fire. lol

They don't have a kit for the XDS (yet) hoping they will at some point. But these have also worked just fine for me, in a shield and kahr 380. They're gtg.

Novel idea however, I personally believe money would be better spent purchasing additional 8 round factory mags.

I'm just not seeing any warning flags out there on the interwebz, mine has worked fine so far. I'm leaving it fully loaded and curious if over time there will be any long term issues with the two spring method, at this point that's the only concern I have left.

My only issue is the price. They cost as much as a new magazine. I think I'd just carry an extra mag.
Thanks for the review. I hope they work out for you.

I wonder why the engineers at S&W didn't think of this. I'd think it would be a major selling point for the pistol.

Maybe they did and thought better of it.

This is awesome. Do they have a kit for the .40?

                          Thank you.

Thanks OP. Great tip for all of us who may wish to carry the Shield. I ordered a few of them today myself.

Does it work on a shield in .40?
