45 ACP? Or something smaller? New? 38 Super converted to 9mm?

38 super base 10.31 vs 9mm base 9.96. Slight adjustment of extractor may be needed.

      Possible causes:
      *extractor tension insufficient
*extractor doesn't have .015-.030 'cam out'
*extractor hook angle is not 'positive'
      *rough chamber.
      *worn magazine feed lips

A lot of the time you don't need a new extractor, you simply need the hook to be re-profiled and possibly re-tension the extractor itself.. pretty quick fixes.
      You are not illiterate.

Not enough details to do anything but give out a WAG.
Eject and extract are not the same but can be related where 1911's are concerned.

Is this the first time for this type of malf?
Crappy range (out of spec) ammo?
        Old/new mag or recoil spring?
        Lubed "properly"?
New pistol? New to you, aka: "used with low round count"?
Tight chamber? This would have showed from the get go btw.
When was the last time this functioned correctly? Ever? Never?
        Recent changes?

        See what I mean?
