Not sure I'm completely OK with free fall mags especially on a gun with extended mag release.
Playing around in simulated combat I've accidentally dropped the mag, especially using weak hand.
I think I'd rather have a mag that pops down about 1/4" when released, then needs to be pulled the rest of the way, or could be slapped back in.
I guess a free fall mag will save you a fraction of a second during a G35 race, but is it best for CCW purpose guns like Shield?
Any cute ways to make a Glock not free falling (besides rubber bands, etc
), besides having it really, really dirty?
Maybe a tension wheel or spring mounted in the rear channel. Maybe some fuzz on a mag. Tease up some of the rubber coating.

In regards to the mags, I want mine to shoot out, drop, fall on their own as quickly as possible. Why would you possibly prefer to fumble with removing a mag manually under duress?
