Last year I purchased a .380 Glock 42. Personally I hated the .380 caliber but the gun shined enough for me to make the purchase.
When I ordered the G42, the salesman said you know the 9mm G43 is just around the corner and it's the same size. I said yeah maybe so but I don't want a gun that kicks that hard as most 9mm in a small package do.
Ever since I picked up my G42 I have loved and carried it religiously. 2 of my friends have even gone and purchased them as well loving them the same.
Fast forward to yesterday, I'm at the range and I asked if anyone had seen a G43 yet, the Range Master said "I have one" I said here? He said yes, loaded a magazine and off I went.
I shot a full magazines out of it (I think it was 6 or so rounds) and was completely surprised at the low recoil of the 9mm, felt like just a tad more than my .380. How did Glock do this? I had a Kahr CM9 and that thing kicked like a mini mule.
The G43 is only slightly bigger than the G42 like an 1/8 wider and about 3/8 inch longer, again not much but, maybe enough I wouldn't be able to carry it in the same manner as I do the G42. Part of me wants to get a G43 just so I can get rid of having a only one gun in the .380 caliber. But at the same time, not sure if I want that bit of extra bulk of the G43, albeit small.
For anyone considering getting one, you will not be disappointed. I had no failures but did notice the magazine was really tough to get it, making 3 attempts, removed the magazine, reinserted to find it still was stubborn.
