Hey Cusco, did you wrap the sand paper over a screwdriver just like the video or did you just use your finger? Asking for a friend.

I just used my finger... And in some other area I just bend the sanding pad and use that instead. Make sure u use the sanding pad and not the sand paper he recommended in the video. See my first post...

Why they don't put a notch in the slide stop is just asinine.

Not sure.. But u can also file a notch on the slide stop. I've seen some DIY for that and the notch or groove will sit it square on the pin and goes straight in.

I know this is an old thread, but following the OP's instruction, I just bought the 3M pad and put them to work on my Colt, SA Loaded 45, SA Loaded 9 mm, all stainless, all w/ idiot scratches. Worked perfectly. Each only took 5-8 gentle rubs and scratches are all gone and cannot notice any difference in any angle w/ lights on. Too bad that this trick would only work on stainless. Bumping an old thread to benefit some of the new CG members.
