Thanks cusco19, I probably couldn't count the times I've seen 1911s with this curse.

This. I have never seen so many idiot scratches on guns for sale as here on Calguns. In the absence of clear pictures I always ask if there is even a lite one,if
They are completely avoidable and a sign the owner didn't know what the hell he was doing and may have taken the same careless approach to maintaining the rest of the gun. They significantly reduce resale value...by $100 or more. For that reason alone, they are worth learning how to avoid and in this case worth learning how to fix.
You don't need a credit card or special tools.
so I'm not buying at any price. The only guns I give a pass on for the scratch
is my original military Colt 1911 types. Pete
After 100 years I give this one a pass!

Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.
In the United States a person's expertise on a subject is inversely proportional to their knowledge of the subject: The less they know about something, the more they become an expert on it.

To the OP, thank you for posting this. We need more calgunners like you who shares information that helps everyone out.
As for the quote below, bubbapug1, I couldn't have said it better myself. Have some class people.
Originally posted by bubbapug1I think its a shame that someone posts a fix for a common problem afflicting even experienced 1911 owners, and the thread turns into such an acerbic attack by some who just have to stick their noses into a well meaning discussion, and for what?
To try to make themselves feel better about what exactly?
Is it such a slight that some folks want to fix scratches on their guns? Or eat good foods, drive beautiful cars, or date attractive women? I don't get it? Is it the new cool to try to degrade others for fixing their stuff? is it that slow in your lives that you need to come here and make yourselves feel better about your scuffed up stuff?
Its petty crap.
Is this how some guys assert their manliness or perhaps is this how some show just how small they really are that they have to search the internet just to stop into a constructive discussion and crap all over the thread?
I think the idiots are the guys who vandalized this thread to boost their own small egos.Comment

you are welcome. i've learned a great deal from fellow CGer and figured this would help some ppl with stainless 1911. this fix doesn't have to apply to just idiot scratches while putting the gun back.. could be use on other scratches for the stainless frame and slide.
i know if i just put a 1911 scratch fix as title.. eventually ppl will chime in and call it an idiot scratch.
so might as well be frank and help new 1911 owners fix their scratch without trying to sell it at a loss or get it coated.
i'm a CZ nut.. but i love my 1911 target loaded.

one came from a ring?Originally posted by KwikvetteOPeR4t3Rz w3aR dem h4tz br4h!Originally posted by ddindetroitI think you mean ProStaff on your ad and not Prostate- the male secretary organ that causes urinary obstruction in old age and make chymotrypsin to lyse seminal clots.
These are nice scopes - ProStaff that is; not the Prostate.
