    SOLD

Looking to go pick out a Blackhawk or Vaquero today or tomorrow.

Don't want to make an all-day event out of it, just want to go somewhere and fondle the selection for a little bit before buying.

The gun shops I frequent (OC Indoor, Riflegear) are all tactical to the max and only have a little bit -- if any -- in the way of six-shooters.

Any recommendations? I'm thinkin Bass Pro in Rancho might have a hearty selection.

American Gun Works in Glendale has a selection of single action revolvers.

Bass Pro might just be your choice. The Stockade in Westminster has a few Vaq's and one or two Ubertis. (and a Beretta Stampede).

Stay away from any Glendale store on Glenoaks Blvd.

Driving from OC to Rancho, you will pass a lot of Turners: http://www.turners.com/guns-handguns...wse/perpage/60

Stopped into the Turner's in Tustin/orange/whatever that area is because I was nearby. In 20 feet of display cases they had a whopping 5 revolvers and only one was an American-made Ruger.

The hunt continues... I'd hate to buy online and have to wait for shipping, pay transfer fees, etc...

You can buy from www.ammoparadise.com and pick it up in Anaheim. No transfer fees or shipping.

Grant will take care of you. Once you order, just call to make an appointment to start your DROS. You'll be in and out of there quick, usually 15-30 minutes.

That looks promising. Unfortunately I am looking for a place with a storefront so I can pick up different models and try them on, so to speak. I'll keep those guys in mind for future purchases though, it looks like they have some really good prices.

Have you checked Rifle gears website for the model and caliber your looking for. BPS's is such a PITA to deal with, If your coming up this way you could check Turners, BPS and Ammo bros, their all pretty close to each other ..I'd wait until Monday..

What caliber are you looking for?
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Thanks for the input golfish. Matter of fact, your post prompted me to check Riflegear's website, and they certainly do have some in stock! I'm looking for one chambered in .357 so that I can exclusively shoot .38 Spl through it. I've had chronic wrist problems pretty much all my life and unfortunately I have to stick to the slower, less punishing loads.

At one time Gunslingers in Glendora had a good supply of revolvers but I haven't been in there in a few years.

Try Gallery of Guns.com That's where I bought my last Vaquero. They shipped it to my local dealer. Very easy.

I would also suggest American Gun Works in Glendale. Twice I got good deals on used guns there. They had several single action revolvers when I was there about a week ago. They are closed on Mondays.

Try the new Ammo Bros in Santa Ana.
I was there a week or so before the official opening.
They negotiated a reasonable deal on a bulk purchase.
Got the feeling they would work with you on SA price, especially if it needs to be ordered.
Give them a call first before driving.
