thanks.. that's about the same amount of oil i use for my 1911. now just need to find a detail strip of the Gen4, cuz the gun was a service gun and doesn't seem to have too much cleaning done to it. so i'm thinking maybe i should do a detail cleaning and then shoot it. any good vids on youtube Glock gurus would suggest?

i've done a detail strip on my P01 and the sear cage on the decocker is a PITA, but learned how to do that through youtube. i guess Glock will be much easier to do compared to that. i hope.

That traction grip looks like it might be a good fit. Is it durable and does it snag to clothing if using it as ccw?

Congrats. Detail strip is a piece of cake on Glocks. Watch a few videos first. I can do it in a couple minutes tops. Once apart, they seem impossibly simple in their mechanics. Have fun.

Gen 2 g19s are awesome. I am lucky that the gen 3 finger grooves fit me

i have a Gen 3 OD G19 and yea the finger grooves crowd my fingers. still, a great combat pistol worthy of ownership. OP will do well with his Gen 4. my Gen 2 G17 is set up the way i like it; no finger grooves and no rail to mount stuff i have no interest in; OldSchool handheld Surefire M3 Combatlight for bumps in the night.

My Gen 2 G17 and my Gen3 G17 are two guns that I will never part with. Especially the Gen 2. All original Tupperware and all paperwork. Sat in the old guys safe for twenty years and looks new. Now the quest for a Gen 1 G17 begins. Forget all that fancy pants SSE and 1911 stuff. Gaston can supply all you will EVER need in a handgun.

Welcome to the glock side! Got myself a gen 2 23 and a gem 3 19. Love em, always go bang and maintenance/cleaning is easy. Load up on 9mm, ur gonna need it.
