I bought this from a vendor online new. It was send to a FFL in SD where I DROS and pick up last week. I took the gun out and got a chance to took the cylinder out to play around and notice black residue. Then I look at the crown and see some damage. I am new to gun and not sure if this is normal. Could you help tell me if this is used or new with just test fire?

Looks like it has had some rounds through it.
I would not worry. I bought a SS one back in 1980 and have been shooting it ever since. You will never wear that gun out no matter how hard you try.
Mine has a 7 inch barrel and is accurate enough to hit clay birds at 100 yards consistantly. Enjoy that pistol. It's a winner!^^ Said by some lunatic on the internetComment

.
It's just some lead, powder and carbon deposits that should clean right up.
Single sixes are nice basic fun plinkers.
Did you get two cylinders with the gun?
I have the 22 magnum cylinder with mine.

Guns are test fired at the factory.
Maybe they are not cleaned after.

Yes it looks to have had very few rounds shot through it
The smears on the crown are normal. Wait until you shoot a lot of rounds and you will see.
Since this is stainless the front of the cylinder will turn black around the holes.
I no longer bother with cleaning off the stains on my stainless guns cylinder.
It only comes off with polish such as Flitz or Blue Magic or a similar polishing agent.
Enjoy the gun. Shoot it, clean it and don't
sweat the small stuff.
