If a gun isn't on the approved list it isn't going over the CA border, I had the joy of that when I got my father's firearms when he died, I still got it but I forget what class it fell under, because it was with-in a dimension and a certain year.

There're ways it could've been imported to CA> For instance, a LEO might've gotten it for himself, and eventually decided to sell it, etc.
