It's a generation gun that can be passed down...$2k will seem like throwing a penny in a wishing well when looked back on. If you have the money, buy it.

Exactly! Why buy a Corvette Z06 when a 9-year old Nissan Sentra with an interior that smells like Chicken McNuggets and dog barf will get you from point A to point B just as well? Pshaw to you people that like nice things or understand appreciation versus depreciation - even with use!!

Thanks for all of the good info.
I've seen the Baboosh collection... crazy.
My step dad has wanted a Python for 20+ years, never has had a chance to own one. I've grown to like them over the last few years. I'm really not that interested in any other wheel guns (if I were the gp100 would be awesome though).
Mentally I can't get over paying $2k... we'll see, I'm talking to the owner today.
For certain guns 2k is nothing..I collect Sig P210s =(Comment

Definitely buy it, the chance may never come again. Nothing better than shooting a nice Python. You will always make more money, they will never make Pythons again._________________________________Originally posted by KestryllYou're boned.

Comparing a Python to a GP100 Match Champion?
Have you shot a Python? Extensively? Leaps and bounds above a GP100. Your comparison is like saying your Rock Island 1911 is on par with a Wilson Combat.
The Python will 100% go up in value, people will always want to complete a collection, start a collection, add to a collection or buy one of those infamous Pythons their dad/grandpa always spoke about. The surge in Pythons the last few years is not because the buying power of the dollar. Hell I remember turning down some for under $1k, Boas for $4k, California Combats for $1,500 because 'that was way too high'. Difference with these guns and other commodities is the people buying these are not doing it with credit, it's spare play money they have laying around. I don't see anyone fire selling their collection of finite items because they cannot afford their car payment next month.Just a normal guyComment

Well, he and I are too far apart at the moment, but I made sure he knows I'm a buyer in the $1800 range...sigpicComment

Get it. I had a Python for a few years. If your a revolver guy it is a must have.

I don't currently own a revolver, but it would be a python if and when I do.
I hear simply holding one allows you to transcend the fifth dimension so you can high five yourself for owning one.Comment

Nobody has mentioned the real reason pythons cost so much more now: the Rick Grimes effect.I provide opinions...
