keeping magazines fully loaded CAN weaken the springs. I dont know where you could buy aftermarket mags but you could always just down load them by 1 or 2 rounds.

      Do you perhaps mean a PT58 instead of 85? The 58 is a semi-auto pistol while the 85 is a 38Spcl revolver.

It is fine to keep the mags loaded, there are known cases of 1911 mags being loaded for over 50 years with no ill affects on the spring. As was said, it's the load\unload cycles that fatigue a spring.

I'm not sure anyone makes aftermarket mags for your pistol but Taurus mags aren't all that expensive.

Depends on what magazines you're looking for.

Taurus PT 709 mags are very hard to find and sell for $60 to $80.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I will have to take your word on the cost but if no one makes aftermarket mags for the PT709 the point is moot. Since you cant buy cheaper aftermarket mags if no such mags exist.

Info on mags for the actual pistol the OP asked about would have been of more use to him though.

Actually, this whole thread might be moot, since the OP hasnt bothered to log back into CGs to check his one and only post since he made it. Probably some type of tracking bot.
