    SA 1911 SNOB

I just acquired a SA 1911 loaded. I went onto YouTube to find videos of detailed disassembly and I cancelled the downloads of kids that post working on RIA's. As if that wasn't good enough for me. I think I just became a springer snob. this is my first 1911 but I am sure others feel the same. Is this so?

    It is all relative.
When asked what qualities he most valued in his generals, Napoleon said, "give me lucky ones."

      Congratulations.

Put tape on the frame until you get the hang of reassembly to avoid the scratch.

        Entitlement.

        It's a funny thing.

Go hang out and snuff your snobbery with some les bear/nighthawk guys. They'll knock you back a few humble notches.

Got tired of using the credit card and did the log man mod on my TRP and EMP this morning. 5 minutes per gun and it slides right in

other than the 2 pc flgr, whats the difference in take down between a cheap RIA and a "springer"

i mean yeah a springer is nice but you really can't be a snob until you get into Nighthawk custom level of money imo

that's like being a "Honda Accord" snob

i mean not knocking SA Loaded (My dad has one, it's awesome!), and $800-900 might be a lot of money for the OP (it is for me too!), but snob might not be the way you want to go with it.

                  It's temporary.

You'll go to the range and some guy in the lane next to you will outshoot you with a RIA GI.

Hopefully this happens before you outshoot the guy with a $3K 1911 in the lane next to you. lol

                    Or you could buy one of these;

You could even make one from a piece of plastic "clamshell" packaging.

                      I don't give a **** if it's an RIA or an SA...

What can you do with it? I could shake my head and look down on an SA Loaded with an SV in my hands, but then I would be kinda lame.

Tons of guys out there who have nice pistols who only shoot at the indoor range and get excited over groups from 7 yards, and there are guys out there destroying at matches with their "lesser" weapons. And vice versa.

It's perspective. Even with my nighthawks I never thought lower of other brands. Even though a non custom springer has MIM, a rough non de horned finish, lack of top serrations, Unblended magwells and ex cetera - I still would not hesitate to take advice from good videos that used them as an example.

                          I even actually recommend speingfields.
