It's hard to tell, and may be the lighting, but the third picture the mag looks damaged, and is bent in too far. None of my 220 mags look to have that extreme a bend.

Since this appears to be a known ammo issue, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Get different quality ammo and you should be good to go.

In regards to the mags, the USA (Checkmate) made ones tends to be problematic with quite a few people, myself included. The Italy (Mecgar) made mags should be gtg for the most part. Does not necessarily mean that you won’t get a bad batch of the Mecgar mags on occasion.

I never tried Hornady but have had great success with the T-Series and especially the HSTs. Seems might just be ammo related due to OAL as mentioned. Either way good luck.

How long ago did Checkmate start making SIG 220 magazines?

Just some scuffs and scratches, I tried to remedy the issue by *trying* to open the flaps a wee bit, but I tell you h'what those mags are like tanks. Instead of bending my needle nose pliers snapped

You tried to open up the feedlips?

Most single stack mags are done once they spread out.

Not the feed lips, the small flaps towards the front if the mag that aligns the bullet nose. the magazine works flawlessly and has been 100% reliable with every type of ammo (except for the Hornadys, hence this thread)

God, had a brain fart on my earlier posts. You are right, mixing it up with some p226 checkmates I had for some reason. They do not make Checkmate mags for the p220, not that I know of at least.

Never mind, disregard my earlier posts, heh.
