Glock or XD would be a good on roster choice for polymer full sized. The XD is known to be a very reliable choice and if, for whatever reason, there is an issue the warranty is fantastic.

Shield is a good choice for ccw being single stack.

If you want something off roster (like the PPQ, VP9, 320, XDM, glock gen 4, etc) try the marketplace here. You may have to pay a premium though.

My favorite polymer guns so far are my XDM 4.5" .45acp and a 4" PPQ 9mm someone let me shoot at a calguns meet.

Go shoot some at the range and see what you like.

Get a sexy Glock and don't get a CZ. CZ's are indeed ugly and shoot like how they look

Maybe you need a plinker pistol? Something to just go and squeeze off rounds just for the heck of it?

If you need one that can pull double duty, a 9mm isn't all that more expensive than .22 these days. A used G17 or 19 would leave you plenty of cash for ammo.

I don't know if I'd get a pocket pistol like a Shield unless you were actually going to CC it. Otherwise you might as well get a more comfortable gun so you'll actually shoot and enjoy it. You do have two full size guns though so it might be worth it if you think CCW is a realistic aspiration.

Ever thought about getting a revolver? A .22 single six is endless fun and a .38/.357 is a pretty good all-purpose handgun. Or a 3-4" barrel .44 that you can carry for defense against those big furry bad guys.

If I were you I'd go with the .44 since you don't have a real hard hitter in your lineup. You have two good manstoppers but I think even .45acp is a bit light for bear duty.

My first vote is for the Glock pistols...I own 3. Ya, they're not the sexiest, but you can't argue simplicity and reliability. I will say though that if you can get your hands on a CZ P09, you'd change your mind about polymer CZs in a heart beat! Doesn't induce the drool factor of the SP01 Shadows, but they make it up in the accuracy dept. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess... I'll never give up my Glocks, but I just wish I had enough time to get a P09 in a 40S&W to match the 9mm.

Well you've had two steel frame guns, so I would try some polymer next. You can choose from Glock, Sig P2022s, XDs, or my favorite: HK. Personally I would recommend the USP Platform, but if you're firm on a 600-700 price point then I think a good choice would be a P2000. They price right around that new(650ish) in either 9mm or 40S&W and you could run it as a HD weapon, Range toy, and use as a CCW.

Voila, and thus you'll have a sexy HK and not an "ugly" CZ lol...
But honestly it's up to you, I'd just go out to a range and shoot them all first before listening to all of the Glock fanboyism going on in this thread.

If you think CZ's are fugly, then you deserve to follow the Glock herd.

Query, have you ever shot say a SP 01?

Simply no need to convince the CZ downers. Leaves more CZ's available to us who can handle them

There is of course more than the number of rounds but you have to admit the number of rounds is a pretty crucial factor to consider.

The P320 has a nice trigger but nothing to rave about IMHO. Ergo's are a little better than the glock but very similiar.

The PPQ M2 in 4" is hands down the best trigger and ergo combo i have ever fired in a polymer gun. I want one bad. Its very easy to shoot. The trigger is rated at 5.5lbs but feels much lighter. I can hit the bulls eye all day at 10 yards. The felt recoil was also less noticeable for me. Maybe because I'm able to grip it better than my other poly's.
how much does the usual polish trigger job on a glock cost?

You should go shoot a vp9 and then kick yourself for being too late..

Hmm a good reason to get a 17 then, I'm assuming most people take them into competition with modified triggers, sights, and such?

OP, you can make a polymer handgun at home and save a whole lot of $$$$. It's called LEGO blocks and will look identical to almost any Glock your heart desires

Lets not turn this into a glock-sp-01 fugly/hate thread......lets remember what he was asking. And also for others who need a hand.

                              My first 3 guns:
                              SigP226r
                              Xd40
                              Ruger gp100-6" barrel

What were the reasons why I chose these? I dont remember. I thought I wanted at first a night stand/recreational/home defense type pistol at first. Wanted the double stack. Night sights/safeties.
Then I wanted a polymer. It was the first caliber I was actually accurate with. Almost glad at that point ex-wife kept Sig in the divorce. I could never shoot it that good. She shot it better anyways..
Then, the revolver. Had I known that , that spark, would later on change what I thought about guns and how accurate they can be. To date: I've become so accurate with all my revolvers that I've only kept my semi-autos for their double stacks and thats about it. I cannot shoot them very well. Not like a revolver. Next to that are the 1911s. Thats it.

In the end, she kept the revolver too. I kept the xd. And bought myself a set of 357mags and a 44mag. Allways remember my first 3. Because there's alot of water under that bridge. Bitter I learned. Life taught well. My Sig was replaced by a cz75 sp-01/night sights/double stack. Weighs the same as my 9mm 1911. Shoots about good. I went with what worked.

                                you need two

G19 to fit your want of striker fired.

3rd Gen S&W to fit your want of variety. 4516 specifically
