My GP100 has the model stamped on the barrel so, to not know what it is sounds very suspicious to me.

Obviously the seller does not know much about guns, so don't rely on anything that he tells you.

Having said that, a GP100 is a fine revolver. $400-$500 is probably about right. You can get them new for a bit more. If that is a 3" than it may be worth a buck or two more due to scarcity.

first, a huge thanks for all the info here.

there was a bit of cross talk. a co worker said his buddy was looking to sell this and sent me the pic. he thought it was an sp101, but wasnt sure. the seller did get back, said it was a gp100, 4", barely used. going to try and meet up with him next day or two and check them out.

Definitely a GP100 with the older style two piece grips. That's how mine looked before I installed a Crimson Trace on it. Nice thing about the GP100 is that it's the only pistol that allows CT to go with a bigger battery in their grips. It uses a CR123 instead of the usual small watch battery. I'm still on the original battery after 20+ years.

They are great guns and shoot very well. I love my blued 6" and it's more accurate than I am! Get it if the price is right. You won't regret it.

                  $450 is a good price.

Mine's a 4" SS with Hogue grip. I put a HiViz FO front sight on it. Outstanding!

Turner's is a bit high. $600 is more like it.

Judging by the grip, this is a slightly older manufacture. Still noting wrong with that.

Still on roster so there's nothing "rare" about it.

Altamont sells those grips if anyone is looking. The hogues are a bit large in the palm if your looking for something slimmer.

Really? It lights up nice and bright still and it's not like I am running and gunning with it every day. It is a nightstand gun that goes to the range every couple of months or so. No corrosion worries with lithiums either.

Little off topic but did you see the Ruger Mini 14 costing more than the Ruger AR556. When did that happen?
