    Input on Ruger revolver

I have somebody looking to sell a Ruger revolver. They said it was a .357 SP101, but it looks like a GP100 to me. I am not up to date on them, so hoping for somebody here can confirm the model and get an approx. value. They gave me one potato pic, trying to get something better and more info. Assuming condition is 4 out of 5, what would a fair price be?

New at turners they go for around 550-600. Sometimes they go on sale for less. I have a 6" gp100. Love it.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

          gp100 for sure.
          Is that a 3" barrel?
The grips look almost identical to those of the Wiley Clapp versions, which generally come with a 3" barrel.

Looks like a 4" GP with the "older" style grips. Used price, $400 would be fair.

$400-$450 is probably a good price. Its a great revolver.

Search the listings for GP100s that have sold. It seems they sell very fast and bring good money. That one would sell here for $400 in seconds. I think it would sell for $500 with a little time.

I picked up a very nice used stainless 3" a few months ago for $500 and I feel I got an excellent deal, especially as the 3" seems a but tougher to find.

A couple months ago, someone posted up a blued 6" model that had been carried in a holster on a ranch for years, and had the wear to go with it. The guy was asking $450. I figured I'd watch it and if it didn't sell I'd try to pick it up at a better price. Within a few hours he had multiple people saying they'd take it.

                They are great guns!

Definitely a GP100, when I bought mine back in the 80s it had a grip like that. $450+ would be a fair price.

I started with the old style grip as well, and changed it to a newer Hogue grip. I found after awhile newer isn't always better. I've since then gone back to my old wood grips like the one you see in the OP's image.

although it could be a simple mistake if seller has many guns for sale, i'd be concerned if seller doesn't know the correct model # of revolver for sale; especially if offered on Armslist.

That sir is a GP100! SP101s are smaller.
