Slim grip full size 9mm?

In this situation I see little point in suggesting especially in CA designs that are intended to take a double stack wider grip 13-17 round capacity.

The Beretta 92 FS Vertec is back on the roster - haven't held it, but supposedly it's relatively slim in the grip.

The Sig P239 is smallish for a full-size, but big for a compact. All metal, single stack.

The P238 is a .380 with a small grip, and on roster. I think most of the Kahrs are single stack and have smallish grips, but not really sure about that line. I was going to suggest a S&W 3913 or 3914, an all metal single stack 3rd generation S&W, but they're now off roster, though they lingered on the roster for years after being out of production. They're probably similar to the P239 in size.

If you can find one for her to try out. Look old school 1911 style but in a slightly slimmer single stack package. "still fullsize" IMO. That would be a STAR model B, or a Super B. Also steel framed, so lighter recoil than plastic guns.

The "B" is C&R eligible, so roster exempt. Available online from J&G and others.

The guys at Rocky Mountain Weaponry can make any Glock into a slim-sized masterpiece. They've worked on three of my pistols already.

This is a pic of the "1911" grip profile they can do on a Glock. I bet your wife would love it...

You can add the Sig P6 (same as the P225) to the list as well. It's a single stack 9mm. The P6 is on roster and they go for about $400 on gunbroker.

My wife is pretty petite and has smaller hands also. The first gun I purchased to hopefully allow her to enjoy shooting more was the non-CA M&P Shield, and she loved it compared to shooting my full size M&P, 1911s, Glock 17, and CZ... There are some out there who always say guys need to stop buying small guns for small women to shoot, but why? Everyone is different and handles recoil and ergonomics differently, so what kind of guns you buy for your wife/girlfriend/female friend is up to you guys to decide...

Having said that, I agree with some of the posters in recommending the Sig P239 since she already has the 232 and have shot other Sigs. I always preferred single stacked guns myself and the two Sigs I shot the best with were P239 and my old P6.

My wife personally has more trouble dealing with racking tight slides than shooting itself, which is one of the reason why she never liked the Kahr series (never could get used to the trigger also). She does want to try revolvers next so we'll see how she'll do with that... If your wife has not tried revolvers before, maybe give that a try? Have fun!

Looking for some suggestions for a slim gripped full size 9mm.

My wife is very small, my 6yr old son shares shoes with her and her hands are not much bigger. She likes her handguns but is looking for something larger. Currently she has a XDS 3.3" 9mm and a Sig P232. She isn't as keen on the XDS as she is on the P232. Her P232 has the rubber Hogue grips on it with the finger grooves and she loves that way that feels in her hand. The XDS grip is a little aggressive for her so some rubber Talon grips or a Hogue Jr may be ordered in the near future.

I took her to the range yesterday and we tried out a P226 and a P220 (Thanks to the guy that works at LAX Range for letting us use his personal P220 Stainless!). She liked the P226 with the slimmer grips but didn't like the P220 (we tried the P220 because she likes the 1911 in 45ACP. Wanted her to try other single stack 45ACP options too). Will be getting a 1911 for her / us in the near future too.

TLDR version, are there any options, on roster, for a slim grip full size 9mm that she should try other than the P226? Glock, XD, and other double stack 9mm she has tried have all been too wide.

Ha! She wears his flip flops sometimes, or if he can't find his he will wear hers. Being able to buy kids shoes for the wife saves some $ too. Kids Uggs, for example, are about $50 cheaper than the women's version in the same size and style.
