Glock teaser? (Glock 43 uber thread)

Glock missed the boat with me for a ss 9mm. Had they released one two years ago I'd have been all over it, but I've been replacing my Glocks with like-model M&Ps and greatly prefer those. Happy with my Shield, and doubt that a ss 9mm would be that much smaller if at all to be worth it.

I have a P938, and I doubt a 9mm single stack glock would replace that. However, should it come out, I know what I am asking for when my birthday rolls around. Out of state parents always need good ideas! And for me, one is none, two is one

Had they released a single stack 9mm, or a family of them (full sized, compact and sub-compact) 2 years ago, they would have been at the leading edge of the CCW movement here in the US. Instead, they totally blew it. The Glock 42, while nice enough, has got to be one of the biggest marketing blunders since New Coke. When everybody else is coming up with 9mm guns in that size range, and their fans had been begging for a single stack 9mm for years, they come out with a .380 ACP. Seriously? Is that really the best they could do? I have my Glocks, and I like them. I especially like them because I have a bunch of regular capacity magazines from college for them. But I have also been replacing them in my shooting rotation with S&W products. Mostly because S&W makes products that I want. Like the Shield.

I got a buddy in Texas whose moving back here in 2016. Hes an old calgunner and he knows how bad it sucks here and he has offered to buy me anything I want as long as I reimburse him when he gets here.

If its a SS 9 I will probably order 3!

Glock is too late... Got a 938 (SAO).. And the XDS AND LC9s for striker fired pistols.. Really love the lc9s!!

Glock's burned that bridge with me; even if they do bring out a SS 9MM, I probably won't buy it. I'm happy with my Kahr.

GLOCK has missed the boat with me on a single stack CCW firearm. I've since found many others that work absolutely fantastic and I didn't have to wait 10 years or more for them to release them.

Sig, Kahr, Kimber, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Walther, Springfield, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I still love my 22 and 23, and I do carry the 23 from time to time when I want real-deal firepower on my hip, but 99% of the time I carry one of the other many many single stack, completely reliable, 9mm's out there.

Why not? It would be a legal transaction. The fact that his buddy is getting reimbursed for it makes it no different than any other PPT. It will be going through an FFL. There is no issue here.

If you are buying a firearm with the intent to sell it to someone else, don't you need a business license and FFL? Admitting that is his friends intent makes the "bought it for myself and decided I didn't want it" defense kind of implausible.

I might have been interested at one time, but I'm full up on little 9's. And if I needed one now, I wouldn't wait for Glock. None of their Gen 4, and none of their American made pistols are on the California roster. This includes the 42.

No. A straw purchase would involve NOT going through an FFL for the transfer. So it isn't a straw purchase. And the guy is out-of-state at the moment, of California laws do not apply to him. When he moves back to California and legally brings his guns with him, he can do whatever he wants with them. It is no different than any other private gun sale that goes through an FFL. The state can not go after him, regardless. The firearm will have been brought into the state as a legal handgun, and disposed of legally. There is nothing wrong with this no matter how you look at it. The letter of the law will have been followed. Moving in to the state with firearms is still allowed at this point.
