    Free shot timer

I was looking to buy a shot timer for practice. I typed in shot timer on my iPhone and it brought up a free app for my phone. It works great, and it's free too!! It does everything a standard timer does, plus store strings.

It's called Free Shot Timer by innovative applications.

Yup, works pretty well for a free app.

I'll have to check that out and try it in the desert. Thanks for the heads up.

                Btt

Used mine at WEGC tuesday. Worked perfectly. In sure glad I didn't spend $100.00 on a shot timer when this app does all of the same things but with much easier graphics.

Phone apps are good for dry fire but i they aren't all that great for live fire. The beep isn't loud enough and they don't always pick up every shot

I've been using it for holster / draw stuff for awhile . I can be in any standing position, draw and fire in 1.50 seconds from a random start consistently. I put my galaxy active on the counter and its plenty sensitive enough to hear a dry fire. Turn the sensitivity way down for live fire.

We run a scenario in our CCW class simulating a.man.with a knife running towards you from 21 feet...at 1 1/2 seconds beep draw shoot you are dead or wounded....a real eye opener.

Sounds like the old surviving edged weapons video

Sweet, definitely put this to use when I am not at an indoor range.

After adjustment to less sensitivity it worked perfect for 380 rounds. I had another shooter on the bays on either side of me too. So Id say it works great for practice, and one day I'll try it in a match
I've been using the same one and sometimes it doesn't pick up all my shots. I could be standing to far away

I'd be concerned about eventually damaging to the speaker and microphone in the phone.
