    Trigger safeties

Trigger safeties - M&P vs Glock style - What are your thoughts?
I bring this up because Apex is well known for their trigger upgrades for M&P, and their triggers use similar technology to Glock.
Do you prefer either style? Hate one or the other? Or would you prefer a trigger with neither type of safety function?

I like Glocks, it typically doesn't bug me. Then I got a PPQ and it has a similar trigger safety except that the "little trigger" recesses completely so it is a more comfortable safety.

I have the M&P Shield and it's hinged safety thing doesn't bug me at all. I wonder about durability, but if it were a problem we'd have heard all about it by now.

So bottom line .. not much difference. It's a drop safety anyway apparently.

I wouldn't pay extra for the Apex trigger just to get the Glock-ish safety.

That's pretty much my thought, to replace trigger parts, reset etc, but not the actual trigger from apex. I find the glock style a little odd. I don't love the way the m&p hinge style feels but I prefer it to the glock style safety.

Hinged safety bothered me so I got the apex.

Meh, I don't even notice the trigger safety.

I have a couple of friends that say it digs into their finger. I tell them they're squeezing it too hard. (Insert tasteless, sexual innuendo joke here...please.)

          Sorry, not sorry.

After shooting a glock I think it's impossible not to hate an m&p trigger. Everyone that has ever upgraded the stock m&p trigger with anything else has loved it.

But from what I can tell they love the internals of the trigger upgrades for smother pull and reset, not necessarily the trigger itself. Or maybe all....

I have an M&P and replaced the internals and the trigger with APEX's aluminum one, I feel that the difference in design of the trigger and the different material removes a lot of the squishiness that I felt with the stock trigger. Now granted, S&W have improved the design over the last few years, I used to carry one for work back in 2009 and the stock trigger then was worse than the current stock trigger.

                  M&P trigger is absolutely horrid!

I'd go with the Apex's Glock copy. Heck since just about all modern
striker fired guns are copies of the best, might as well go with a trigger similar to the best.

Stock for stock, I prefer the glock safety lever over the M&P hinge trigger. That thing is simpy awful.

The hinged triggers on my M&Ps do feel a bit "flexy". The one on my Shield is a bit beefier.

The split trigger safety type overall does feel more solid. My PPQs, and VP9 have them as do the XDs.

APEX makes a flat faced split trigger now too.

Glock safety is pure idiocy. It's a safety that works right up until something or somebody touches the trigger.

I believe the trigger safeties do keep the gun from firing if dropped on the muzzle, but for actual usage, I see no value.
