We live in a free market society...or at least we should strive to. Which means supply and demand set the price. If somebody is a shrewd investor, good for them. Don't get upset with them because you lacked either the foresight or resources to do the same. That's just silly...and un-American.

If you want to be upset with somebody, be upset with the legislators that created the stupid roster. It is their fault this situation exists in the first place.

I've only tried to make two points in this thread:

1) People that are turning over SSE guns for a few bucks aren't contributing to the problem that is the existence of the roster by bringing more handguns into the state. And this is not a revenue stream that is making anyone go turncoat.

2) Just because supply and demand allows an equilibrium price to be reached after the government does something that jacks up one curve or the other doesn't make it a free market. The government doing the thing that jacks up the supply curve makes it not a free market before anyone even lists the first firearm.

You still haven't provided a reasonable solution. What is fair in the example I gave, where someone spends a couple thousand dollars to acquire a gun worth a few hundred in a free state. Do you still consider it gouging if I'm trying to recover money I spent?
