Writing these laws and including crap that makes people violate the first rule of firearms: "treat all guns as if they're loaded". Just awesome. Not only are the people that write these laws evil tyrants, they're morons as well. It's why I will never buy a gun with one. I never want my kids to learn something that is complete fail.

I traded for a 226 Scorpion with the LCI last year. Thought I'd get used to it but never did, sold it after 3 months. Flat out ruined a great gun!

I never trust the LCI. I have had the part of the LCI break so it wouldn't pop up and you couldn't tell it was broken from the top

Chamber check all the way. I'm not going to rely on a tiny protrusion to tell me whether or not a gun is loaded.

+1. Empty chamber means exactly that- hole on the back side of the barrel thingy. No more, no less.

That's why I recently got an off-roster P226 as my first handgun: didn't want that stupid metal tab to lull me into any bad habits. Plus it just looks so friggin' ugly with the LCI and all that lettering on top.

I personally do find it convenient when you are in a stressful situation however doesn't necessarily mean that it makes sense for everybody. Yes, this is another dumb law that California lawmakers Approved and yeah so many manufacturer's put it in a location that makes the gun look really really ugly. However Beretta has one, hardly even notice and no kidding the guns always loaded geez what were they thinking?
That's what happens when stupid people that don't know anything about a subject matter create rules to regulate the people who know what they're doing.
