Mailed my renewal on 12/28/22. With the holidays and such, we'll see how long it takes.

Expires Mar 27, but at least AZ is constitutional carry now, though that screws me with the feds due to the school zones that are down the road from the family I would go visit.

That is the exact reason why I still renew mine. Hopefully you'll get yours before the trip.

Renewal is in the mail they said. Almost three months for me.
After 75 days you may have to goose them by email.

I emailed my packet 12/27 and 10 days later it was back at my house requesting an updated doc, not bad... hope they process it as quickly when they get it the second time around

We leave mid Mar on a long trip back east, sure would be nice to have it in hand when we leave

          Good luck all

This is why you get multiple states with overlapping effective dates.

Exactly...this is why I have the Arizona, Utah and Florida permits..overlapping coverage.

They accept a CA training cert IF they 'uses instructors who are certified by the national rifle association'.
The requirements are spelled out on their site.

So I mailed my renewal on 12/28/22 and they postmarked my permit envelope 1/9/23.

That's like a 7 business days if my form arrived right away, including the holiday!

I also want to know if it is possible to send them a copy of the CCW in the mail separately IF they do not accept my training certificate or if I am going to have to wait for them to send back my packet.
It does NOT need to be an NRA course, as long as the course is taught by an NRA instructor. His NRA instructor number should be listed on the certificate. If it’s not, that’s probably why they didn’t accept it.

To answer your second question, yes. It was in the link (list of appropriate training) Lady Ruger posted:

                            6. A valid current or expired concealed weapon, firearm or handgun permit or license that is issued by another state or a political subdivision of another state and that has a training or testing requirement for initial issuance.

My California CCW certificate does NOT have an NRA instructor # on it. I am hoping that it is either accepted or if it is not, they will let me send a photocopy of a my CCW which I will be getting next week instead of waiting for them to finally get to my packet and have to wait until they mail it back to me.

I was trying to get my AZ ccw in the mean time since I already had done the training but did not receive my CA ccw yet.
My training certificate for Orange County CCW had no reference to the NRA and they accepted it though I also attached a copy of my CCW.
The "slippery slope" is not a fallacy; it is a strategy.

They accepted your CCW not your training certificate.
