want to bring my gun out of California

Hello,
in 1 year I will relocate to Europe.
I am from Europe I am not American.
I Wanted to ask if anyone of you knows how to deal with the guns.
I'd like to bring back to Europe at least one gun I have here.
I know about the Europe laws what I do not know is what I have to do here in California to initiate the process.
Is there any specialized gun shop who may assist ?
I live in the bay area

I have to take it to Italy. not that the rules with guns there are any good but...
in some way better than CA. for example. Did you guys know that in Italy 9mm (9x19 aka 9 Luger) is forbidden ? just to make an example.
