Starting July 1, 2016 Nevada will again be accepting the expansive Utah CCW permits after having dropped them in 2009. I've made 2 trips to Reno and had to book a room, take a class, visit the Sheriff's office and pay the fees. For those of you who might not know about this change, here you have it. It will be nice to avoid the expense and hassle of keeping up a Nevada non-resident license.

Nevada accepting Utah CCW permits again
Nevada dropped the Utah CCW permits back in 2009. Starting July 1, 2016, Utah is back on the accepted list. It is going to be nice to not have to hassle a Nevada non-resident license any more. Book a room, drive to Reno, take a class, visit the Sheriff's office, pay the fee, wait for the license.

CCW license issued by another state still does not exempt you from Federal gun free school zone laws. Only a license issued by the state you are in exempts you from GFSZ in that state. IMO if you are a frequent traveler to NV, it is still worth it to get a NV CCW.Comment
