dang!!! two days priorI was notified by SG Ammo Tuesday of 124gr HST in stock-I believe there were 125+ boxes (50-rd) in stock. I jumped on it and also posted on calguns about the availability, AFTER I made my small order te he.
The email alerts really work- otherwise, one will likely miss out because those boxes (standard pressure) sold within a day of the alert. It makes getting the ammo nearly effortless, compared to manually checking websites on a daily or more often basis.
I wonder how I missed it... did you post in the deals section?
I signed up to be notified... I do that often, but it's not uncommon to miss out anyway - by the time I check emails, items are often OOS."Kamala is a radical leftist lunatic" ~ Donald J. TrumpComment

Possible remedy: If your phone can set alerts to specific email contacts, you might be able to have it alert you when SG Ammo has sent you an email. My cell phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4, but I haven't looked into it.
No, I was pressed for time and since it was one specific brand and weight of ammo, not a broad-sweeping deal like those usually posted in the Deals section, I mentioned it in some detail only in a thread where I had participated.
I posted news of it in this link, post #35 : http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...1#post14845001Last edited by ifilef; 09-12-2014, 6:33 PM.Comment

Remington Golden Saber for my 40 (185gr) and 9mm (124gr). Hollow points are your friend and for some reason I shoot the heavier loads better. Hollow points can do more damage and it is less likely to keep traveling after hitting your target.Comment

I'd advise against carrying other than factory ammunition, and nothing with Zombie or Kill Right There, whatever. Don't provide any law enforcement with evidence that you reload and give appearance that you have developed a specific intent to kill someone, and were just staging a means to do so. This issue of trust, well, I don't understand such an irrational fear. I've reloaded and see where mess ups are more likely to happen with reloads than factory ammo any day of the week.I carry my own ammo. I trust it more than I trust anything I can buy in the store. The high end defensive stuff I get in stores is too expensive for me to practice with enough to know it's truly reliable, but my own ammo is.
As for specifics I carry a 10mm with 180gr Hornady XTP bullets over a charge of Longshot coming out at 1260fps.
Do what you will- I said my 'piece'. Remember that I did 'told you so'!

(snipped for brevity/emphasis)
And may I add, it would be prudent to test each magazine that is designated for CCW/HD use with that particular ammo, too.Comment

I agree that we should only carry factory ammo. I would rather have lets say Winchester defend why a hot load was in the box of ammo you bought and carried and had to discharge your weapon than me defend the reason I made a mistake and it was just that.I'd advise against carrying other than factory ammunition, and nothing with Zombie or Kill Right There, whatever. Cheers,
of course the legal counsel for the family member you killed wont see it that way. let the big boys defend why their ammo was messed and that you had zero control over it and it was a manufacturing defect.http://govnews.ca.gov/gov39mail/mail.php

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

If you want to take this a step further, you could even pull the factor defensive ammo you have and double check for correct powder charge. It's not like pulling and re-seating a bullet will change anything, and that way you can be 100% confident that at least your rounds have powder.I'd advise against carrying other than factory ammunition, and nothing with Zombie or Kill Right There, whatever. That is soooooo funny. You should be writing for SNL!my first two rounds are blanks, that gets their attention. at this point they are thinking they had made a bad career move.
my next 2 rounds are snake shot that lets them feel the sting but not too much pain. at this point they know they made a bad career move.
last 2 rounds are a mix of hard cast lead & grizzly bear teeth...(let the doctors try and figure that one out.)
...& at this point, if they survive, they are going to definitely change their career path and maybe get some religion.
^^^ just joking.Comment

I wouldn't touch the ammo that way. if in fact they inspect your ammo and find it has been tampered with it may go against you. it is California after all where the criminal has more rights than the victim. If you want to take this a step further, you could even pull the factor defensive ammo you have and double check for correct powder charge.
