Am waiting for my issuance appt, but would like to relate the following.
After deciding I did not like the Ruger LCRx, which does have good sights, I got a SW Bodyguard.38. It has the laser which overcame my apprehension that the front sight was all black (ok for range). When qualifying I could hardly see the front sight at the covered range so turned on the laser. My shots qualified, but the instructor Said to try it without the laser and focus on where experience told me the front sight was. Well my group shrank from the eight to the nine ring with that method. The instructor told me I had been chasing the laser which caused my groups to be larger.. Without It I held the gun steadier and my concentration was higher.
Now don't everyone jump on me at once. I have had a laser on my 1911 and liked it at the range. But as the instructor said, under stress and at close range my experience using iron sights took over.
So huh!
