    Leather Holsters

Looking to get a quality leather holster for CCW. Since this will be for a G26, looking for something that will support the heft after it's fully loaded and one in the chamber.

I prefer to carry at the 3:00-4:00 position with a 15-20 degree forward cant. Would also like a mid or full sweat guard for the slide.
Would a single clip be enough to hold the G26 in place? Or will I need 2 clips?

Which company is know for quality leather work and will stand behind their product? Was thinking about Milt Sparks Summer Special 2, Kramer IWB#3, Galco Royal Guard, etc. Any other company I should consider?

Or should I consider 2 clips such as :

I find a good carry belt is the most important part. With a good "carry" belt I can single clip carry a full size metal gun at 4:00 IWB. I use a Crossbreed Quik Clik for both my compact and my F/S.

The G26 loaded isn't a heavy gun. Any of the leather holsters you show will work fine. I assume it's is OK with you that none of the holsters show are tuckable? Your going to wear you shirt lose over the gun to cover it right?

I already use CCW belts from SOE EDC belt, Ares Gear Aegis, to Hanks Amish Gun belts.

Yes, while it's nice to have a tuckable holster, I just don't wear my shirts tucked very often. And I'm planning to use a pocket pistol for the few times I'm in business attire.

I would like a quality leather holster with a full sweat guard for the slide. Thanks.

Since the holsters shown look like they cover the slide where it meets the body. The only thing to remember about leather is that it absorbs moisture. If you in an environment where you are likely to sweat a lot, or face high humidity then you may well face moisture absorption and pass through to the weapon. If you carrying a Glock or XD no problem, if your carrying a Browning Hi-point or a steel .45 1911 you can suffer excessive corrosion unless you maintain the gun, and oil the leather to create a barrier. In So. Cal likely academic.

The only other issue to watch with leather if the fit of sights. If you have changed sights and they are taller or fatter, you may have issues with the draw. Leather can also be a little inconsistent since it expands and contracts.

Still a leather holster feels good against the body.

Full disclosure, my daughter works for the parent company, sent me one of these as a birthday gift last summer. Seems to be holding up rather well

                    Kramer #3. Followed by a Sparks VM2.
The #3 has been my go to aside from a few bouts with AIWB for a decade. I have used the same one for my G19 for the majority of the time and it is still holding shape and is hard like Kydex. I wear it with no undershirt and have no issues with corossion or sticking. Still has positive retention.
I picked one up for my Sig P226R and just ordered one tonight for my G43.
I have tried IWB from Galco, sparks, Rosen, desantis, and numerous Kydex mfg. but always go back to the #3. Also note that the paddle at the bottom will help secure the short barrel G26 and it will make it more difficult to have it flip out over your belt.
I also prefer the Adjustable Chicago screw standard loops over the snap loops. They are flatter and print less.
                    Get the Horsehide.
I have a second one I picked up in brand new condition for my G19 but I am not sure I will need it in my lifetime.

I carry my G26 in a Gary Brommeland Max Con-V. It's not inexpensive, but I can't imagine any way you could improve it.

Milt Sparks makes fantastic stuff if you can handle the wait. But there are some stores on line that sometimes have stock.

I've always heard good things about the following but don't have any direct experience.

                        Kramer
                        Mitch Rosen
                        Tucker Gun Leather

And after seeing this video, I'd say Andrews makes some VERY nice stuff too...

I personally prefer the two clip holders as in the last picture above. I have 2 that I use regularly. 1 with the clips as shown that I use daily when I leave for work since I have to to take it off and lock it up before I get to work (can't carry at work). The other is is from TT Gunleather and has the snap belt loops vice the clips. I generally use this one on weekends or while traveling since it is more secure and more comfortable for long term wear.
